A local architect wanted to push the envelope with his latest project. ‘I also didn’t want it to be a total affront.’

Architect David Bailey designed this 6,500-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom home for his family in the quiet Nashville, Tenn., suburb of Green Hills.

The skyline of Nashville, Tenn., has changed and David Bailey has played a role. As a partner at HASTINGS Architecture, he has led the design process for many of the city’s new landmarks, including civic, university, hotel and residential buildings.
