Robert (Bob) Beals and Elizabeth (Betsy) Barton may have the only house in Suffolk County with a “math nook.” Both former professors—he in math and computer science, she in astronomy and physics—they met while working for Renaissance Technologies, a quantitative hedge fund on Long Island. After marrying in 2019 they bought a large house in Setauket overlooking the Long Island Sound.
